Originally
this sock pattern was created in
Summer of 2003 using Cotton Fine & it had
an Afterthought Heel.
It was called Airy Ankle Skimmers.
Changes were made Fall 2003 when it became a full
legnth sock and was called Peek-a-Boo
The sock pattern was changed again
in Feb 2007, to include a traditional heel
and 2 sox on 2 circs directions
for the Deb Brown for ITE3

2 - # 2 C ircular Needles OR size needed to achieve gauge
Gauge is 8 st & 10 rounds / inch
Abbreviations
K = KnitP = Purl
K2Tog = Knit 2 stitches together
P2Tog = Purl 2 stitches together
Sl = Slip the stitch Knitwise
SSK = Slip 1st stitch Knitwise,
Slip 2nd stitch Knitwise, Knit 2 stitches Together

BOR = Beginning of Round

Cast-On 64 – 32 per needle
Join, being careful not to twist

Repeat (rounds 1 – 8) 5 times = 64 rounds
Continue the pattern down the instep
HEEL is worked over 32 stitches

Work heel for 2 ¾ “ or desired heel flap
( 20 garter ridges)
ROUNDER HEEL TURN
Sl 1, K18, SSK, K1 TURN
Sl 1, P7, P2TOG, P1 TURN
Sl 1, K8, SSK, K1, TURN
Sl 1, P9, P2TOG, P1, TURN
Sl 1, K10, SSK, K1, TURN
Continue working one more stitch each row until
all the stitches have been used worked.
GUSSET PICK UP
Pick up a stitch at each garter ridge,
knit across insteps, pick up a stitch at each garter ridge,
knit across heel stitches
Knit 1 round
GUSSET DECREASE
Starting at instep, knit across,
on 2nd needle, K1, K2Tog, knit across to 3 stitches
before end of needle, SSK, K1
Knit around
Repeat these 2 rounds till you have 32 stitches on each needle

knit till 2 ½ ” shorter than foot length
